~ Important Announcement and Invitation ~
The Value Education Task Force of the Foundation, is now ready with the first draft of its “Value Based Education Implementation Framework”, which has been prepared over the past year. As a part of the process of preparing the document, the members of the Value Education Task Force met with representatives of many of the stakeholder groups in Education. They met with students, parents, members of the bureaucracy, principals, teachers, CBSE strategists, those from NCERT and even religious groups involved in value education. They read a plethora of literature and documents available on the subject. After more than a year of work and research and a workshop conducted in August 2009, the Task Force has now come up with the Implementation Framework that can serve as a step by step road-map for all such educational institutions that put a premium on creating an eco-system for value based education that makes good human beings and citizens, and not just “toppers”.
We propose to release this Implementation Framework and effect further consultations on the document, on a very special and pertinent day for all of us – Teachers’ Day, Sunday, the 5th of September, 2010, from 9:30am onwards. The day-long event being held at the Jacaranda Hall, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road, New Delhi, will run you through the finer aspects of creating an eco-system that nurtures ethical values and those of effective citizenship, while also sharing with you the final contents of the Framework. Participation to this special event is entirely by invitation, and no fee will need to be paid by you. Apart from providing you with relevant kit, lunch and refreshments will also be served to the invited delegates.
